That’s one giant lie for mankind

I know a lot of people who don’t believe that the United States landed on the moon. Their reasons vary, but for most it appears to come down to a simple matter of trust. This is understandable, after all, it isn’t like our government is always transparent and honest. But does this mean that everything we have been told is a lie? Are there ways to take an unbiased look at the subject and allow the evidence to speak for itself? Let’s go ahead and take a look at some evidence and allow it to draw whatever picture it draws.

To be fair to those who hold to the notion that we did not land on the moon, I would like to eliminate a few points from my own argument and concentrate instead on evidence generally not considered. I will start by discarding the 8400 photos taken during the Apollo missions because they could be considered propaganda. Let’s also dismiss the 842 pounds of moon rocks that have been independently studied by a number of third party labs in multiple countries, rocks found to have amounts of anorthite and ilmenite at significantly higher concentrations than Earth rocks. Let’s also ignore the approximate 400,000 people involved with the Apollo missions as they could all be lying, for whatever reason. Let’s just forget about that stuff.

The first piece of evidence that I would like to offer that shows the mission to the moon as having happened, is the Soviet Union. At the time, both nations were in a race to get to the moon. This is not only well documented in writing, we also have plenty of time-period videos that prove this. If we had faked the landing, if there was even a hint that we faked it, the Soviet Union would have used it as propaganda to bolster their side of the Cold War. In sports terms, a faked landing would have been a slam dunk for the Soviets. But it wasn’t faked, the Soviets knew it wasn’t faked and seeing that the entire world had watched the moonwalk live on television, they couldn’t even lie in order to use it as propaganda without disgracing themselves.

A second point would be that four other nations have soft landed unmanned craft on the moon. The Soviets in 1966, China in 2013, India in 2023 and Japan in 2024. In addition, those latter three nations have all produced photos of the Apollo lunar landing sites. Below is the photo taken by India’s Chandrayaan-2 orbiter of the Apollo 11 landing site. That would be three independent, first-hand (in person) “foreign” witnesses of what the world thought it saw on July 21st, 1969.

Lastly, Apollo missions 11, 14, and 15 all left retro-reflecter arrays, which are essentially an array of small mirrors. Soviet Lunokhod 1 and 2 as well as India’s Chandrayaan-3 each left retro-reflector arrays as well. These mirror arrays are aimed in such a way that allow scientists from around the world to fire lasers at those mirrors, which bounce back, giving them the ability to determine the distance between Earth and the Moon within millimetric precision.

The three points I just shared carry a great deal of weight. A competing nation that would have done anything for evidence of fraud so they could use it against us, didn’t use the moon landing because they couldn’t, they knew it happened. The existence of moon rocks that contain substantially higher amounts of certain minerals than their Earth counterparts do, that have been independently studied to be genuine by multiple labs in multiple countries. Scientists around the world are able to measure the precise distance between the Earth and moon because man-made mirror arrays are planted on the moons surface. We also have photographs taken by three different countries showing our Apollo lunar lander sitting where it was left in 1969. These are all significant points that have independent witnesses and physical evidence. They would all, collectively, stand together as an impossible case to oppose in a court setting.

Yet that evidence doesn’t stand alone, does it? Let’s factor back in the 8400 pre-CGI photos taken from Apollo capsules and from the moon itself. These are all easily testable to determine authenticity based on the paper and ink used. Let’s also factor back in that there were 400,000 first hand witnesses of the Apollo missions without a single credible whistle blower coming forward. And let’s also factor back in the hundreds of thousands of Americans (and foreigners) that have worked for NASA since the Apollo missions ended, as well as upwards of an additional million people who have worked for the 10 other space capable countries around the world, and the evidence in totality is overwhelmingly in favor of a successful moon landing. Like an atheists faith in billions of coincidences that fell in line leading to their own sentience, it looks like similar faith is needed to believe the moon landing was faked.
