Variety and Consistency

Variety and Consistency

This week I reached a new low of 244.9 pounds, down 3 pounds from last week. My activity this week was closer to what I would like it to be, lifting some, doing a jog/walk of 2 miles or so a few times a week, and staying away from sugars. I did partake in some ice cream Saturday night, the first time I’ve had anything like that in a while. The key for me, it is now clear, is not repeating that treat beyond that one day. In the past I have made a mockery of self control by eating something like that and then giving in to that kind of treat over and over again.

My goal this week will be to break things up. I will do the jog/walk 2-3 times this week but I also bought myself a pair of 16 oz heavy-bag gloves. I have a place close to home where I can go hit the heavy bag and I know from years past, that a boxing workout will wear you out. I am hoping to get 2 or 3 days in doing just that.

Variety is important to me. Not only does it focus on my whole body, but it also keeps things fresh. And, remaining consistent. If you have a bad day, shake it off, and just back back to it the next day. Your success isn’t bad on any one day, or even a week, it’s based on consistency over time.

So how can you break your week up? If you are already breaking things up with a variety of exercise routines, what are you doing? I’ll check in next Monday, be blessed.
